A Splendid week of Sewing

I spent the week trying to get caught up on my Splendid Sampler.

First up is Family Stars, block 17. I'm really happy how this one turned out. All my points. The only down side is this one is almost 7" square. But I'm going to leave it and figure it out when I put the quilt together.

Here is Block #21, Sweet Candy. So nice to have an easy one once in a while between all these hard ones.

And then here's the bonus block for earth day.

Block 15, Family Affair. I had attempted this one when it first came out and nothing matched up than I seen someone post when printing to make sure it wasn't printing fit to page. So I attempted this block again and I'm so glad I did.

And here's another bonus block.

Block 22, Goose on the loose. Another paper pieced block and it gave me some trouble. I think the next paper pieced block I'm going to cut all my pieced a little bigger than the designer has listed.

Today I'm working on embroidering Block 11, Crocheted Thoughts. After I finish this one I'll be all caught up until tomorrow.

Another charming bag

My daughter has been asking for her own bag ever since I gave the owl one to her cousin. So the other day I made her this one while she was at school.

I finished another block for The Splendid Sampler.

Splendid Sampler

I got 2 more blocks done for my Splendid Sampler.

First up is Nature's Walk , block 20. I was a little intimidated by trying this block but I'm glad I did. I love it!!

Here is Lina's Gift, block 18. It was so nice to do a simpler block after tackling the embroidery.

Splendid Saturday

I woke up at 6 AM this morning and started sewing. So nice to be up before the kids and get to sew!!

I got 2 more blocks done for the Splendid Sampler quilt along

First up is Scrap Stars. Block 13 in the quilt along. I was really intimidated by this block. But it wasn't real hard to put together.

Here is one of the bonus blocks, Just for You . This one was fun to put together.

I hope to get another block done tonight. And after I finish knitting a hat for my youngest, I plan on tackling one of the embroidery blocks for the Splendid Sampler.

Owls....

I have a niece who really really loves owls. And a craft fair she found a bag someone had made with owls on it. I had seen the fabric at Walmart so I went and got 3 fat quarters and some coordinating fabrics, used this pattern, designed by Amanda and made her an owl bag.

I had leftover owl fabric and decided to try my hand at a zipper pouch. (my first time sewing in a zipper). I used this pattern. I had a little trouble understanding it and referred to some other patterns I had printed off and came up with this.

This is pinterest projects # 47 and #48. Just for the record I now have 4,280 pins on pinterest!!
