I spy

I worked this morning, the youngest 3 kids spent the night at Grandma's. My husband is bringing them home after he gets done at a fishing tournament. So instead of spending all this time on FB and Pinterest, I decided to start tying a quilt. This is my first time tying a quilt, so after watching a few YouTube videos. I jumped in.

My little pony

My 9 year olds new obsession is my little pony. While shopping at Walmart, I seen some my little pony fabric. I bought a yard and turned it into a pillowcase for her. She was surprised when she got home from school.

Almost done..

I've been working on a baby quilt for a new little niece that is due to arrive in December.

All I have left is the binding, which would be done if it wasn't so nice outside today. I've been outside most of the day playing with my 3 year old.

#5. I haven't touched this one.

#6. Another one I completed.

#7 and #8: I"ve made some progress on my PL albums. I"ve made the most on my 2016 album, I need to get these done and start on 2017

2 Hats

I got a leftover ball of Caron cake yarn from my mom and made 2 hats.

The bigger hat was given to my niece who turned 5 months a few days ago. The smaller hat will go to a niece due in December.

I have enough yarn left to make another hat, but I switched to a blue Caron cake to make one for my son.

It's been a while....

It's been awhile since my last post. I started a job! I haven't worked outside of the house in 9 years! I got a job at a local nursing home as a dietary assistant. After I get through training, I'll work an average of 30 hours every 2 weeks.

I did receive some scrap fabric from SBB Heart Builders, and I'm in the process of making a baby quilt top to be donated to project Linus.

I hope to have a quilt top to share with you soon.

Here's my blue bin.

Here it is all dumped out.

I managed to make 4 blocks, before I had to pack it all back up again. I hope I can get it out again soon, but we'll see.

Piggy Bank Savings

I decided to join in with Val's Piggy Bank Savings.

Here's my piggy bank.

Not sure how much I'll actually save, since I seem to take the coins and use them to get prints at the library!

Quilted Hearts

Today is my 16th Anniversary, and my husband has to work!

So I spent the morning, before the kids all got up, sewing quilted hearts.

Now I have to take the kids around to hide these. I found a quilted heart.

Old jeans

With the kids out of school I have to steal little bits of time here and there to craft.

I have a whole bin of old jeans. I started cutting them up into circles using my ruler.

(my phone doesn't take good pictures!)

My plan is to make an I spy quilt for picnics and parades for next summer. I just need to get a bunch of different 5" novelty squares to make this. Any ideas on where to get a whole bunch? If someone would love to Swap, maybe we could set something up....

We have been really busy now that school is out. Visited a couple state parks. Brought the kids out to visit relatives, went to a zoo, driver's ed, doctor appointments... Lots going on.

I did manage to get my yellow scraps sorted out.

I didn't have very many pieces to make 6.5" blocks (6" finished). I only managed to get 5!

This month for the color for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, is yellow.

Here are my yellow scraps.

I don't have enough here for my 3 solstice 12" blocks. So I don't know what I'm going to do for those....

Saturday, June 3, 2017

The month of May was dedicated to the color green over at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

Here's my Green basket.

Than I worked on some 12 1/2" Solstice blocks.

Than I made some 6 1/2" blocks (6" finished)

I than cut the rest of the scraps in this basket into usable sizes.

And here's my now organized green basket.

Now onto June's color, Yellow!
