Baby Quilt

I gifted a baby quilt to my niece. This was on my FAL list but I had a different pattern picked out, so I'm not counting it towards that. And my phone broke between when I made this and it was gifted, so you get just a picture of the quilt top.

Snow and a baby quilt.

Wednesday around 3PM, they called off school for Thursday. This is what it was like outside.

Thursday morning:

Throughout the day it snowed, thundered, lightening, hailed and sleeted. I spent the day cuddling a sick little boy, coughing and high fever.

Friday (today) school was two hours late. Woke up to it still snowing.

I finished this baby quilt about two weeks ago. Can't believe I haven't shared it yet. Someone my husband works for is expecting a baby. His wife is getting induced today! Lucas asked him what kind of baby blanket they would like. He said one with Case IH tractors. The baby is a girl. I wasn't very happy that my husband asked. But after spending a day on the internet searching I found a panel with tractors on it that was girly.

I than spent a week coming the internet looking for a pattern. I seen this quilt posted by Jo.

And I drafted out the size stripsi would need and made this:

2018 FAL Q2

Here is my list for Q2 of the 2018 Finish-A-Long: 1. Splendid Sampler Quilt-the top for this has been done for quite a while.

2. Panel Quilt-can't show the panel just yet, it's a surprise for my husband.

3.ABC Flash Cards- hope to get these 7 done, and than a few more, I plan on eventually making the whole alphabet plus some extras so my youngest can spell his name and learn some of the letter.

4. Knitted Afghan

5. On Ringo Lake-haven't made much progress on this one-some of it has to do with finding Coral fabric.

6. My little one is begging for another I spy quilt. I think I'm going to take these scraps and make a ticker tape quilt.

7. Rainbow stars quilt-this started out as 6.5" squares from my trimming of scraps last year. I have almost all the stars I need made(I think I need 5 more), than I can start the Irish chain pieces

8. Red, White and Black coin quilt

9. Baby Quilt for Charity- I got these strips along time ago from a swap I was in on FB, we had certain measurements they were supposed to be, but there is a lot of variety in the lengths. I found a pattern just need to get background fabric.

10. A doll quilt-I'm going to have to dig through my 2.5" squares and figure out the colors for this one. I want to practice some quilting and figured a doll quilt would be perfect.

11. Heart ornaments from my FIL shirts(these are scraps from making the 5 bears). Planning on making one for each of his kids, grandkids and greatgrandkids. I think I need 21.

12. Jelly Roll Quilt-need to square this up and quilt it.

RAK Week Day 2

My niece had her baby boy at the end of January, 7 weeks early. He has almost gained a pound since being born and is doing good. I made this preemie hat and figured I should mail it, since we probably wont get to see him until at least March.

Now to come up with a RAK for tomorrow....

Baby Girl hat

My husband came home from ECFE with a note from a teacher. They wanted to know if I could knit up a baby girl hat for a baby shower she is going to.

Here's the hat I made:

She loved it!

After seeing Jo's ABC quilts, I decided I wanted to make one.

Here are all the letters.

Now to get the top sewn together with sashing.

This quilt will probably go to my niece, who just had her first baby yesterday, 7 weeks early.

2 hats

It's been a very rough Christmas. My FIL died suddenly just before Christmas. His funeral was held the day after Christmas. Emotional highs and lows all week. My 3 year old couldn't understand why everyone was sad and upset.

In between I did get 2 hats done. One for my 3 year old. And the other for a nephew due in March.

2 Finishes!

This quilt I made for a niece that is expected in the middle of December.

This little mini quilt has been sitting in my UFO pile for a long time! I finally finished it.

This mini is #5 on my FAL-Q3 list, and it is also #5 on my American Patchwork and Quilting UFO list. .

Almost done..

I've been working on a baby quilt for a new little niece that is due to arrive in December.

All I have left is the binding, which would be done if it wasn't so nice outside today. I've been outside most of the day playing with my 3 year old.

2 Hats

I got a leftover ball of Caron cake yarn from my mom and made 2 hats.

The bigger hat was given to my niece who turned 5 months a few days ago. The smaller hat will go to a niece due in December.

I have enough yarn left to make another hat, but I switched to a blue Caron cake to make one for my son.

Baby Gift

My sister's baby shower was yesterday. She's had a few miscarriages and now she is expecting a baby girl in April.

Here's the gift we brought for the shower.

My sister mentioned these burp cloths, so I whipped these two up a couple days before the shower. I was hoping to make a batman one to, but I couldn't find my yellow flannel, maybe I used it all.

My Brother-in-Law likes batman, so I made 2 batman bibs. I got to practice on my embroidery machine!

My sister loves elephants. This is a taggie toy made with some leftover fabric from this quilt that I gave to her a few months ago.

I found a simplicity pattern in my stash for pj's. I seen the 1/2 size and assumed it was 6 months. Nope-it's 3t.

Here's an elephant bib I made for her. (The pacifier says #Spoiled)

And I guess I don't have a closeup picture of the headband I made, and the cards picture was taken with my phone, so I'll share that later.
