Dollies and a Super Secret!

So I started cleaning my scrappy room last night. And got inspired by a Secret Sketch. I also did the Dollies elements challenge Just One . Hope it counts, it is one piece of pp, it's a double sided one!

This is from the beginning of this year. When Sydney had to go to the E.R. for stitches. 4 days prior she had been at the E.R. for a nail in her hand.

Cookies with Santa!

This page is done, with two challenges in mind. A sketch challenge at one of my cafemom groups . And the Elements challenge over at the Dollies . The elements challenge this week was at least 5 layers, and I'm not big on using layers. But there is at least 5 in this simple page.

Knitted Christmas Ornaments!

Last year I made a bunch of Plastic canvas christmas ornaments. So this year I decided to knit a few.

The plan is between mine and the kids ornaments they've made. Excluding a few treasured ornaments, the tree will be mostly homemade ornaments!

Thankful for November 24th!

I know I'm way behind!

Today I'm thankful for 4 days without a whole lot to do! Just spending the weekend with family and friends!

Thankful November 9th!

I am thankful for my parents.

They are always there and I rely on them quite a bit. Like tonight, they are lending me a vehicle and watching 3 of the kids so Mady can go to Dance practice.

Yay I'm scrapping again!

I did this Lo for 2 Dollies challenges. It's for their sketch challenge and the color challenge to use Royal Blue, Light Blue, White and Black.

Also don't forget about my candy.

I'm thankful for being able to travel and spend time together.

This is a beach in Florida from this past April.

Thankful November 6th!

I am thankful for knowing how to knit.

My mom started teaching me how to knit when I was 5 years old. And it's something I can do while in front on the T.V., trying to relax. My daughter Madyson is after me to teach her how to knit now. It takes lots of patience, I don't know how my mom put up with teaching me!

Thankful November 4th!

I seen this over on my friend Kristy's blog and thought I would join in.

I am thankful for my family.

Now if only I could find a pic of all 4 of my kids together!!

Name my blog!

So my blog started out being about my scrappy stuff. But I've included other crafts and projects I do. So I'm holding a little challenge to rename my blog. I'm offering up a little candy too. Not sure exactly what, but it'll include 4x6 pp, and some stamped images, and probably some other goodies. All you have to do is post a comment about what you think I should rename by blog too. The name I choose will win the candy. You can post on your blog if you want, and become a follower but it is not necessary. I'll leave this open until December 3rd. Where I'll pick a name.

It's about time!

I finally got back in my scrappy room and actually scrapped! I completed these cards this morning for the Dollies elements challenge for this week! The challenge is Wee Little Ones, and I decided to make a couple of mini cards. If my daughter wouldn't have kept interupting me I probably would have a few more made.
Did I mention that the dollies are my favorite challenge blog on the internet! I just love what they come up with. Now hopefully I can keep my scrapping mojo and get more things done this month!

The blogs gotten away from me again!!!

I can't believe it's been over a month and a half since my last post. My how the time has flown. I've been kept busy knitting baby hats for a community baby shower. Here's a pic of them. I'm now getting more request for hats. But who doesn't need extra money this time of year.

What's my name?

Who is I... Someoddgirl.com

Over at Some Odd Girl They are having a name the monkey contest. I asked Mady what his name should be and she said Dora. Everything should be named Dora according to her. I'm going with the name "Boo Boo" for some reason that one stuck in my head when I seen him!

If you want a chance at winning go on over to Some Odd Girl and enter a name!

2 more challenges!!

I got up before the kids these past 2 days and got to work on some scrappy stuff. I don't know how I ever scrapped for all these years without challenges, or sketches. It's amazing I got anything done! Here's my first Layout, it's for the Dollies color challenge. The colors for this week are, black, white, pink and green. This picture is a couple years old. When Mady still had her long hair. It was taken by my sister out by a bridge.

This next LO is for the Dollies element challenge. The challenge was to do a school themed project with you in it. I've been wanting to get my school pictures for a while and do a LO with them. The challenge for me was finding them all. My daughter just loved seeing me with glasses. And the one with the kinky hair, and perm.

So my personal challenge was to get 7 Dollies challenges for the month.
I got 12 of the 14 challenges done. I got all the color challenges and all the sketch challenges. I missed 2 of the elements challenges.

Kiss Me!

This is a really plain simple LO based on the Sketch at Dollies . I completed this morning, while the kids were all still sleeping.
Everytime you ask Sydney for a kiss, you get adorable fishy lips. I tried and tried to get a picture of them. This is the best one I could get! This makes my Dollies challenges for this month total 10!

First Haircut!

I seen the color challenge this week at Dollies and I thought how am I going to make that work. But then I found these pictures of Syd, with Navy blue on the neck of her shirt, and a Jean Jacket on.
This was her first haircut. We told her we were going to get her haircut and she was all excited, but by the time it was her appointment, she was sleeping. And not too happy about getting woke up in the haircutting chair!

Birthday Card!

Here's a birthday card. I made for this weeks challenge at Project Tuesday. Hope you like it. I might not be able to get to this weeks elements challenge at the Dollies . We are planning on leaving for the weekend. Going to go see the kids Great Grandma! Have a lovely weekend. It's supposed to be nice and sunny here for the next couple days. Then back to more rain.

A new Dollie Recipe!

I seen this weeks sketch at Dollies and thought of the perfect pictures to go with it. I had to do some altering since I scrap mostly in 8 1/2 x 11. I started out scrapping that way over 12 years ago. And have yet to change! After digging out the pictures, I thought they would go great with the Dollies color combo for the week. The colors for this week are Royal Blue, Aqua, and Orange. I ended up having to add a neutral into the mix. But here's my Layout:

This happened at the beginning of the year. My 2 year old, fell on a axle for one of the boys pinewood derby car. She had it as far into her hand as it would go. Ended up going to the E.R. to get it removed. Also I now have beaten my goal of 7 Dollies challenges. I have completed 8 out of the 9. Maybe I'll get to the Elements challenge for this month....

Knitting Hair accesories

Last night while watching a movied with the kids, I knitted up these ponytail holders for the girls. I find it easier to knit and watch movies than try to scrap. I also added a flower I had knitted a few weeks ago to a hair clip for my daughter.

This week I've also gotten lots of goodies in the mail. I ordered two books, 52 scrapbooking challenges by Elsie Flannigan and 52 more scrapbooking challenges by Elizabeth Kartchner. And recieved them both within a day of each other. I've already completed one challenge. 103 more to go!! Plus the other day I got a sweet little card and some scrapping goodies from my friend CindyP, (thank you)! Well that's about it for now.

Dollie Trifecta!!!

I'm 3 more closer to my goal of 7 dollie challenges for the month! With this card I now have 6 done! The Dollies color challenge this week is Kraft, White, and Yellow. My card is mainly those colors except for the coloring, and the sentiment stickers. The elements challenge this week is a Tv Theme Song. I don't have cable at home. And rarely get to watch T.V. shows. We do borrow lots of movies from the library and rent some, for at bedtime to wind down. But other than that, we don't get much t.v.. So this one was hard. My 2 year old, had on a shirt that said Happy Days, and I figuired the TV, show Happy Days should work for this challenge, therefore the title. The card is loosley based on Dollies sketch for this week. I'm sorry for the colors, but it is rainy here.

Another one for the Dollies!

My goal this month is to complete 7 of the design dollies challenges for the month. Not sure how that is going to work out, because I'll be busy getting the 3 of the kids ready for school this year. But here is what I did with this weeks Sketch from the dollies .
It's from 2003 when we took the boys to the circus. And I made a page to go with it.
I know it needs something else added to it. I'm pretty sure there should be other pictures of this event. And I'm planning on adding journaling. But I think I'm going to sort through my thousands of pictures to see if I can find anymore. I'm also entering this into Cute Card Thursdays whateva challenge.

Dollies, Friends and a Birthday Card!

I've been in a scrappy mood lately.

This first one is for 5challenges! First it is for Dollies elements challenge, friendship. It also is for Pile it on butterflys(on the patterned paper), Pennys challenges anything goes, Mels Jens Design they want clean and simple (one embellie, a simple background made from scraps-simple), and finally at Shelley's Images this place is a zoo challenge, (sometimes with two toddlers around it can feel like a zoo. Next I made a card, not too fond of this one.

The card is based on 2 challenges: Partytime Tuesdays is looking for summer birthday cards, and at 365 Card Day 158 is a recipe challenge (5x5 card, 2 pattern papers, an image, a sentiment and 2 buttons.

1000 Sheets of paper Blog Candy!

Over at A Thousand Sheets of Paper , Amy is having a big giveaway. She has reached two milestones. First her one year anniversary of blogging was in July. Second she kept track of how many sheets of paper she has cut into. And has reached a thousand. So if you want a chance to win some candy click here !

The Color Purple!

Over at Design Dollies the color challenge was purple, olive green and cream. As soon as I seen purple I was thinking no way would I get to this challenge. Well looking through photos for some other challenges I ran across the perfect pictures for the Design Dollies color challenge.

My daughter Syd in a purple shirt painting her nails. Over at Digi Doodle the challenge was to use a punch or cutting machine. I used my cricut to cut out the word "nails" and to make the circles. I also used a star punch. And over at Stamp and Create the challenge was flowers. I layered a purple and green flower with a button.

Guys in the Kitchen!

This Lo is based on the following challenges: In my cafemom group, they are having a crop. One of the challenges is Break the Stereotypes. I thought these pictures fit in perfect. Also works for the color challenge over at Dollies . I think it also fits the challenge at Cute Card Thursday . They want texting crazy. I included a defination of the word bake. Also over at Dutch Dare their challenge is anything goes. Does anyone recognize the LO? It's a Sketchy Thursday one that I used a while back for a design dollies sketch.

Want to win

Would you like to win over $100 worth of scrapboooking products? I know I would! Head on over to Scrapbook Steals to find out how.

Snobby Walrus

Over on Tracy's blog she is giving away a $25 certificate to snobby walrus. All you have to do is tell her what you would spend it on, to be in the drawing. I would spend it on ink (my 2 year old got into mine, and destroyed 3 inkpads!) plus I'm always in need of paper, or maybe I would get myself rub-ons, or primas.... this is hard to choose.

New Look

This is from when my daughter Mady decided she wanted her haircut. So she went to the haircutting place with her dad. I told her she had to keep it at least to her shoulders. She said she wanted it above her ears. She looked through books and came home and surprised me with short short hair. This LO is for the following challenges design dollies color challenge, and sketchy thursdays sketch.

Crop Weekend

In my cafemom group they are having a "Happy Days" crop. This first picture is for a sketch challenge at cafemom. I'm also entering into Cute card Thursday. They want to see you reuse, renew and recycle. The title is made from a cereal box, that I hand cut, and covered with paper.

The card was also made for a challenge at cafemom. It also can count towards Paperplay challenges. They want to see sun.

Another One!

Here's the Layout I told you I was working on the other day. Saturday I spent the whole day at a festival, and sunday being Father's day we stayed disconnected from the world and had family time.
This Layout is based on the sketch from Sketchy Thursday . Over at Pixie Dust was to use the colors red, black and white. And this one also qualifies for fun with shapes was flowery. I have a layered flower, plus the patterned paper is full of flowers.
(sorry the pic is sideways, my computer still won't let me rotate my pictures).

Friday, June 18, 2010

Yay!!

I finally got a scrapbook page done!!!!
(Sorry that it is sideways, computer wouldn't let me flip it!)

This one is for Design Dollies . There element challenge was Sandy- I made a sandcastle out of sandpaper, and the picture was taken at the beach. Plus it is based on there sketch challenge. It also is for handful of stamps , (hope it counts-I didn't use any stamps), there theme is water, I have blue paper and the beach photo. It is also for Paper play challenges something old, the picture is from 2003 and the green paper is a from my scrap paper.
I am in the works on another LO. You might get to see it tomorrow, if I get to it. Lots of company today!

Terrible

I haven't blogged in almost 2 MONTHS! I haven't done much scrapping been doing other projects. Here is one I just completed for our garden plot in a community garden area. I got the idea from a Family Fun Magazine, and improvised it a little for the materials I had on hand.

Saturday, April 17, 2010

Wow! It's been a month since my last post....

I can't believe it has been a month since my last post. I've done maybe 2 LO's in all that time!!! This week is an online crop at a cafemom group I'm in. And between that and The Dollies . I got motivated to do a few LO's. This first one is for a sketch challenge in my cafemom group and the elements challenge at the Dollies.

And the second one is for the color challenge at Dollies and to scrap a page without pictures at my cafemom group.

K1P2

Here's my entry for Sketchy Thursday. I took these pics in 2002, before my digital. I wanted to scrap them. But I had never heard of a BOM. So they just sat there. Last year I finally started a BOM, and this sketch and these pics just jumped out at me.

Dr. Suess, Dollies, and The Shoe!

I got some wonderful mail yesterday and it inspired me to make this card for two different challenges. At the Dollies they have a new color challenge, purple, brown and white. And over at The Shoe the challenge is Dr. Suess. I discovered a few things trying to make this, I don't have very much purple, I need to buy new colored pencils (seems they have up and disappeared, could be from two little girls), and I only have 3 Dr. Suess books to my name.

Friday, March 5, 2010

Do You Like Green Eggs and Ham?

Over at The Shoe their challenge for the week is Dr. Suess. I did this page LO, last year for my cafemom group challenge for Dr. Suess. So even if though it doesn't count for the challenge I thought I would share it. This is the first time we had Green Eggs and Ham with my daughter Sydney. It took her a while to try them. She kept looking at me,"You expect me to eat that".

Design Dollies Challenges!

I started scrapping last night and got two Layouts done for the color challenge and the elements challenge over at Dollies not sure if I'm really happy with them but here they are. This first one is for the elements challenge, use the color yellow, and sun.

The second one is for their color challenge, royal blue, light blue, and lime green.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Just had to share!

While scrapping, my daughter, Mady (5) wanted to do scrap. So I found her an extra photo, let her have free range of my scraps and this is what she came up with. Her favorite color is green(if you couldn't guess) which went great with the photo, since the bumper cars are green.

Mady's Eyes!

I did this LO for a couple of different challenges. In my Cafemom group, they are having a challenge about your kids eyes. I didn't have any closeups of the kids eyes but I love this photo. And over at the Dollies the color challenge is Orange, Brown and a neutral. I also used the sketch from the Dollies .

Watch out Barbie!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since I posted! I did this LO, for a cafemom challenge following a Dollies Layout.
The challenge in my cafemom group was watch out barbie, barbie gets whatever she wants, so why can't I. Anyways, I don't think in terms of diamonds, and mansions... so mine turned into dreams I would love to do/try/see.

Handwriting Challenge

Over at Paper Play Challenges they are having a handwriting challenge. I journal on 99% of my pages in my own handwriting. So here is a LO I did yesterday. Some of the journaling is covered up,(you all don't need to know where I used to live).
